This could be considered a curveball by some.

A few will be quick to point out that Kevin Owens and AJ Styles (as indy standouts who went on to be successful in WWE) have a lot in common. That's fair, but AJ somehow seems like a bigger star, especially to those who lived through his TNA emergence.

Styles also proved he could work miracles with older heroes back at WrestleMania 36 in 2020. His 'Boneyard' brawl with The Undertaker, despite being filmed cinematically, was a hoot. That could be an option for Austin and WWE if he doesn't feel comfortable working a straight-up standard singles match on pay-per-view.

'Taker set the template for that against AJ, so it's there if they want it. Styles is another modern-day worker that Austin has been extremely complimentary of over the years too, and AJ is the kind of wrestler who'd make the most of anything vs. 'Stone Cold'.
