Speaking of NJPW, these two veterans coming together for one last blaze of glory would make for a great story. Tanahashi and Nakamura's bodies both bear the brunt of a lifetime spent in the profession and watching the two push each other on through the pain would be genuinely moving.

Another reason behind this pairing is the hope that by teaming with his former sparring partner Nakamura may rediscover some of his lost mojo. It's no secret that Shinsuke has lost a step since his disappointing Wrestlemania 34 match with AJ Styles, with most of his matches since then hovering around the 'average-to-good' mark.

Tanahashi, on the other hand, is still an absolute machine in the ring and has figured out how to use his ageing body to his advantage. No longer the Ace of old, he uses the fact that his body is basically held together with staples and the wishes of his fans to heighten the emotion of every big match he's in.
