10 Dream Wrestling Matches Fans Just Missed Out On
6. Steve Austin vs. Triple H vs. The Rock
What makes this one all the more sickening is that it was scheduled to happen at the Survivor Series 1999, but injury problems would plague Steve Austin, forcing to have major neck surgery towards the end of 1999. Due to this, his Triple Threat encounter opposite The Rock and WWF Champion Triple H was changed to include The Big Show. Show would incredibly go on to win the match, and the title, having a fairly short run which is memorable only for the silly storyline he'd have the next month whilst feuding with The Big Boss Man. Things could have been a lot different had Austin not had to take a sabbatical - there was a lot of excitement for this three-way at the time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcYCsJjbY3g Looking back, it had all the potential to be a classic, but fans wouldn't see Austin until months later, and the man wouldn't wrestle again until October, 2000. Fittingly, it was left up to Triple H and The Rock to carry the mantle in his absence, but it's sad that this proposed Pay-Per-View match didn't happen.
