8. Brock Lesnar Vs. Randy Orton (SummerSlam 2016)

At the time, Brock Lesnar against Randy Orton felt like a pretty big deal. WWE had announced it would take the headline spot of SummerSlam 2016 a couple of months in advance, allowing themselves plenty of time to generate some buzz.

And most of us fell for it. The Viper seemed like a different type of opponent for Lesnar, one who could perhaps equalise the massive size and power differential through his unpredictable streak.

Failing that, it was at the very least a bout we had never seen before on the main roster. Despite the duo both arriving in WWE at roughly the same time in the early 2000s, they were yet to get in the ring together outside of OVW - and that was hugely exciting.

But, of course, it ended up suffering from overbooking. Instead of a clean win for the Beast Incarnate, he was instructed to end the mach by cracking Orton's skull open, spilling his blood all over the ring and forcing the referee to call for the bell. It was just unsatisfying - especially for the night's go-home match.
