10 Dream WWF vs WCW Matches We All Had In The 90s

2. Vince McMahon vs. Eric Bischoff

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoZUXeKIPwE When you talk about publicity stunts, it doesn€™t get much bigger than the de facto head of one wrestling promotion challenging another promotion€™s boss to a fight on PPV. Fans -- and even Eric Bischoff himself -- had to know there literally was no chance in hell of Vince McMahon showing up at Slamboree in May 1998. Yet, Bischoff threw down the gauntlet days before the WCW PPV aired, daring McMahon to show up at Slamboree and fight him. It was such an odd move considering that Bischoff still was aligned with the nWo at that point, and he was basically acting as a WCW executive challenging WWF€™s head honcho to a fight. Still, this was a match that any fan during the Monday Night Wars would have paid through the nose to see. Sure, as a match it would have stunk royally, but as must-see TV, it would have excelled. The animosity between Bischoff and McMahon was palpable to any fan who flipped between Raw and Nitro each week. You just knew that if these two guys shared the same confined space, something would happen. So while Bischoff€™s €œchallenge€ was a publicity stunt at best, it was rooted in fans€™ desire to see the two rivals lock up. Years later, when they finally did share the screen, they hugged, as McMahon named Bischoff Raw€™s general manager.
