10 DUMB WWE Heel Turns (We Didn't Want To Admit Were GENIUS!)
7. Seth Rollins (2019)
At first, it looked like Seth Rollins was just cutting a frustrated figure who didn't really know which way to turn following negative fan response to his dire feud vs. Bray Wyatt's 'Fiend'. That ended at Crown Jewel in October 2019, then Rollins started lashing out at fellow babyfaces following Survivor Series. Nobody knew where any of this was going.
WWE were taking it week by week themselves.
Online, fans began to doubt Seth's abilities. Instead of beating their heads against a brick wall, WWE went full on heel with Rollins by drafting up his 'Monday Night Messiah' persona. It took a while to get going, but turning heel would prove so successful for Seth that he eventually regained popularity and went baby all over again.
The most clever thing about Rollins rejecting fans was that they'd been rejecting him (gently then...not-so-gently) for months anyway. In other words, he could turn around and blame people for messing with his mind to the point that he felt backed into a corner.
