There's nothing quite like the sight of a devious wrestling villain pulling a fast one on one your favourites to the sound of deafening boos ringing around an arena.
However, as you're likely more than aware of at this point, not all heels are equal. And while fans may be blessed with a star as despicably calculated as MJF manipulating his way into the history books over in The Land of All Elite at this current moment in time, not every heel has been able to execute many an ingenious and cunning plan as effortlessly as The Salt of the Earth over the years.
In fact, in the case of the following bad guys taking up spots on this list, it's safe to say that they have all had a hand in unleashing some of unquestionably the stupidest, silliest, and plain ol' oddest attempts to get one over on our heroes ever to grace a television screen.
And it'll likely not come as a surprise to hear that the following schemes didn't exactly work out for all involved either.
So, from hilariously bizarre cash-in calls to simply not learning from another heel failures' mistakes, these are those ill-advised heel wrestling plans that had "foolish" written all over them.
10. Austin Theory Cashes In... During A US Title Open Challenge
Austin Theory's Money in the Bank climax was the sort of farcical car crash you simply could not take your eyes off.
After somehow walking out of the titular PLE with the all-important briefcase, A-Town would go on to unsuccessfully target Roman Reigns' Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on multiple occasions in the months that followed.
But with Theory having a whole year to pick the right moment, there was still time for the youngster to capitalise on a wounded Tribal Chief down the road.
Instead of being patient and waiting for a vulnerable spell for The Head of the Table, though, Theory suddenly decided that the United States Championship was a far more realistic prize there for the taking... on the same night that then-champ Seth Rollins had laid down an open challenge for his mid-card strap.
Cue many a head-scratch as Theory proceeded to waste his guaranteed world title shot on a US title opportunity he could've simply taken for free on November 7's Raw. And sure enough, Theory's decision to cash-in after Bobby Lashley had already targeted The Visionary inevitably backfired, with The All Mighty helping cement the silly sausage as one of the most foolish briefcase holders of all time.
