Right off the bat, it's important to note that Chyna was an anomaly to the world of pro wrestling. A huge star during her heyday in the WWF, Joanie Laurer had major facial reconstructive surgery, along with breast augmentation work and other plastic surgery, to improve her visual appeal and appear more feminine. It worked, because the woman only became more beloved once she changed up her look.

Recent years have not been kind to her public image - now involved in the adult entertainment industry, Chyna usually comes off as extremely bitter when discussing WWE, Triple H and others during interviews, despite the success she had during her time there, but amongst all the complaints about how she was treated, Laurer forgets to tell of her own sizeable ego.

Reading Chris Jericho's second book, 'Undisputed', gives some insight into how precious Chyna was during her best years in the company. Feeling she should be World Champion, even though she was limited as an in-ring performer (at least according to Y2J, who worked with her numerous times), Chyna was aloof and aware of her protected status.
