10 Embarrassing NXT-Era Creative Failures You Totally Forgot About
5. Colin Cassady: Singer
Earning one of the biggest pops at the iconic and era-defining TakeOver: Brooklyn in 2015, Colin Cassady's dulcet tones played cult favourite Blue Pants to the ring as she took up a role as troubleshooter alongside The Vaudevillains, but his seven-out-of-ten singing voice was briefly all he had going for him.
When Enzo Amore suffered a broken leg in November 2013, it temporarily derailed a promising double act he'd formed with the seven-foot Queens, New York native. As evidenced by his tragic main roster departure in 2018, Cassady didn't have the confidence or experience to float alone, and this in-between period saw him trotted out as a passable vocalist to vindicate hostilities with superior singer Aiden English.
Full Sail audiences were notoriously kind to most things back then, but even they couldn't fathom why this limited giant was being humanised further by being reduced to performing as a popstar on the peripheries. Enzo's return couldn't come quick enough - by the time he hummed his version of the 'Price Is Right' theme for the aforementioned Blue Pants entrance, his belting out the classics had already been rightfully reduced to banter.
