10 Epic Million Dollar Ideas WCW Refused To Use

5. A Tight Budget

While Eric Bischoff was spending WCW money like it was an endless supply, did someone not think to tell him that WCW would make more money simply by not spending on lavish excesses? They could have saved millions by employing a smarter financial restraint. Instead, Bischoff splashed out on the likes of NBA star Dennis Rodman for $1.5 million in 1997, which was more than even some of the top WCW wrestlers were making that year. Or, how about the fact that Bischoff decided to hold a yearly WCW pay per view at the Sturgis motorcycle rally each year? He killed the opportunity of a live gate, all because he loved motorcycles and wanted to do a show around Sturgis. Imagine if they'd have done that PPV in a proper arena each year, it would have added up to huge money. Furthermore, WCW's beach and pool based events were another blow to live gates. It was a policy of fancy, rather than a policy of good business.
