10 Excellent 2015 WWE Matches That Deserve More Recognition
3. Daniel Bryan vs. Roman Reigns (Fastlane)
Boos showered down upon Roman Reigns when he won the Royal Rumble in January. As well as a general dislike of Reigns' seemingly obvious path to the top, these boos stemmed from the early elimination of Daniel Bryan. The returning star had been teased as a potential Rumble victor after sensationally returning from injury. In the aftermath of the unpopular Rumble finish, Bryan and Reigns were placed into a feud together. The rivalry culminated at the inaugural Fastlane event, with the WrestleMania title match on the line. Few were expecting a wrestling clinic, but the subsequent match was very impressive. It's certainly true that the finish was predictable, but there was just enough doubt to make the contest engaging. The action went back and forth, with each competitor at their absolute best, before Reigns was able to score the win and consolidate his Mania main event slot. Conventional wisdom among many suggests that Bryan carried Reigns to a good match. To an extent, that may be true, but it certainly takes two performers to put together a truly great professional wrestling contest. At Fastlane, Reigns proved that he could handle the main event pressure.
