10 Excellent 2015 WWE Matches That Deserve More Recognition

4. Seth Rollins vs. Neville (Raw)

There's a lot that could be said in criticism of Seth Rollins' WWE Championship reign. However, the former Shield performer always delivered in terms of match quality. Never was that more in evidence than when he decided to ape John Cena in August by issuing an open challenge. That challenge was answered by Neville, who had been stagnating in the midcard only a few months after his call-up from NXT in a blitz of fanfare. The match wasn't a 30-minute classic. It was, however, a masterclass in how to put together a title bout for television. The action was fast and furious, with several jaw-dropping nearfalls teasing a potential title change. During one of these pinning predicaments, Rollins was able to get his foot on the ropes at the last moment in such an unorthodox way that the entire arena was certain a new champion was about to be crowned. In a wrestling climate that has trained fans to expect finisher kickouts in big matches, it was remarkable that this match made the false finishes so believable. It's true that Rollins has been in significantly better matches this year than his television clash with Neville. However, this was perhaps one of the best matches on Raw this year and also one that very few people seem to remember.
