2. Sting Vs. Triple H Will Be An Epic For The Ages
Expectation: WrestleMania 31 will mark Sting's first WWE match ever and his first match in fourteen years. Well, that's if you choose to accept WWE's retconned history and ignore his eight year run in TNA, anyway. Fan reaction has been favourable to Sting's few appearances since Survivor Series and WWE have done a great job of protecting his aura. Expectations are somewhat high for Sting's first WWE match. After all, WWE have been airing videos of opponent testimonial hyping up what a great performer he is. If Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, John Cena and Daniel Bryan are telling you how good he is, you know he must be something special. Then there's the fact that he's in there with Triple H, a big-match performer and a ring general who can get the best out of even the most limited of opponents. Sting may be getting on in age (he will be 56 come WrestleMania) but the belief is that Triple H can carry the match and, maybe, help deliver an epic match on the night. The buildup has been good and the ingredients are seemingly all there for them to work with. Question is, can they deliver that big WrestleMania worthy match on the night? Reality: They can but it's doubtful that they will. There's a lot of factors standing in their way, including the little fact of Sting not having wrestled a match in over a year. How will he perform in a stadium setting? Will he blow up? Can he move as quick as he could even a year ago? And what about Triple H? He's had some great 'Mania matches in recent times with Daniel Bryan and The Undertaker but he's also sent people to sleep with his efforts against Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar. This one could go either way but you'd be a fool to bet on them having anything close to a four star match.
