10 Failed Pushes That Weren't WWE's Fault
6. Mr Kennedy
The charismatic Mr. Kennedy, seemed like the company's future at one point. Sadly, he has the unfortunate "honour" of having two failed pushes, neither of which can be placed at the company's feet.
Firstly, he started to attain a large degree of success in his initial run, winning the US Championship and eventually capturing the Money in the Bank briefcase. This seemed like a perfect way to bring the deep-lunged star into the main event, but an unfortunately timed injury would force him to drop the case to Edge.
After his return, he had another chance to find success and was pegged to become the illegitimate son of Vince McMahon in a major storyline. But, things would go awry again after a steroid suspension would cost him this position as well.
Soon Kennedy's reputation amongst his peers would plummet, as big-name stars like Randy Orton and John Cena reportedly claimed his in-ring work was dangerous, resulting in his being fired from the company.
You have to believe that WWE wanted great things for this star, but after two unfortunate mishaps at the cusp of greatness and a lack of respect from some of the company's top-stars, they were at a loss.
