10 Famous Wrestlers With Terrible Finishers

6. Chris Benoit - Top Rope Headbutt

The top rope headbutt is one of the worst moves in the history of professional wrestling, and not just because it looks stupid, but because it’s insanely dangerous.

The three most famous wrestlers to use it regularly over the past few decades have been Harley Race, Daniel Bryan and Chris Benoit.

Race is largely wheelchair bound these days, due to the toll moves like this took on his neck and head, Bryan retired a decade sooner than he should have, and well, we all know what happened with Benoit. You can’t blame everything on the move, but absolutely no good came from it.

Now, looking at the visual of the top rope headbutt, you can't help but accept that it’s just silly. Because if you truly hit your opponents' head from the top rope with your own head, you would likely knock each other out. So the person jumping instead lands on their opponents shoulder with their head, which is...well, it’s stupid. A knee or an elbow would be just as effective, and hurt the person delivering the move a million times less.

Luckily no one in the company is using it at the moment, and hopefully it never comes back.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
