7. AEW Teased A Different Design For Its World Heavyweight Title

In something that feels more like a fever dream than something that actually happened, posh British comedian and close friend of Tony Khan Jack Whitehall both unveiled the AEW World Heavyweight Title at Double Or Nothing 2019 and teased the design itself on an ITV special broadcast ahead of the show.

This worried people unnecessarily - Jack Whitehall: General Manager! was even talked about as a concern by a fanbase unable to believe that mainstream wrestling could simply be wrestling again - and he never did appear for the promotion again. It in retrospect is nothing more than an "Oh yeah, that happened" moment, and as such, it's very likely that you've forgotten about the World Title belt design he pretended to unveil.

That was the bit - he claimed it was too big to remove from the bag in a skit designed for r/SquaredCircle to zoom and enhance - and if you did look closely, you'l notice that the design is very different to the now established title. It looked, frankly, like a sh*tty, insta-dated belt promoted by a promotion with 'Nu' somewhere in its name. What the sh*t were the red dots?!

Was this a decoy, or did AEW see sense - and quickly?

Given their fondness for a cheeky easter egg, likely the former.
