Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho were still smarting from the fact they'd been relegated from a potential Universal Title match slot to the United States Title feud when 'Mania 33 took place. Both were fuming with that, but their anger was nothing compared to Vince McMahon's after watching them work the second match on the main card.

Backstage, Vince called KO vs. Jericho the "worst match in WrestleMania history".

Jericho later claimed that McMahon went in heavy on Owens by calling him "fat/out of shape". The then-boss also said Kevin did "too many moves" and criticised his work as a heel. That didn't sit well with 'Y2J', and neither did being put in the second match spot on such a big show. He took that as an insult considering the strength of the pair's story.

Rightly, Jericho argued that his match hadn't been anywhere near as guff as The Undertaker vs. Giant Gonzalez at 'Mania IX. It wasn't even close to being the worst match in history. Didn't Vince re-watch his own snorefest vs. Bret Hart from 2010?!
