10 Fascinating Stories Behind WWE Superstar Tattoos

3. Charlotte Flair's Rib Quote

Charlotte Tattoo

Charlotte Flair has shared the story before about how she, her siblings, and several other family members got a tattoo to commemorate the passing of her brother Reid in 2013. That cross is joined by a Biblical quote dashed across Charlotte's rib cage that also has a personal meaning.

The quote reads: "Guard your heart above all else, for it will determine the course of your life." Flair had this inked at the same time as her sister, because both were going through divorces whilst still in college and wanted to remember the struggle. The phrase is lifted from Proverbs 4:23 in The Holy Bible.

On Superstar Ink, Charlotte gets visibly emotional when relaying her story to Corey Graves. The tattoo obviously takes her back to a time in her life when she felt vulnerable and in need of direction. "Guard your heart" was supposed to remind her that it's OK to be selfish when the time calls for it.
