A tagline once attached to the singular appearance of WrestleMania XI's special guest Lawrence Taylor was fitting for longstanding roster member Dolph Ziggler when he took on Otis on this unique version of WWE's 'Grandest Stage'.

There was a tragic irony to 'The Show Off' only getting his first singles match on the card when there was absolutely nobody to perform in front of, but his television feud with Otis around the affections of Mandy Rose had been received for months and Ziggler was the perfect villain to match against lovelorn Heavy Machinery man.

A breakdown in communications between Fire & Desire partners Rose and Sonya Deville along the way bolstered the story further, and Otis and Mandy's post-match kiss was a sweet and simple wrestling romance story for a generation that hadn't had a good one in some time.

For Dolph, it was the end of his WrestleMania road. He missed the following three events before he was released in September 2023.
