The second attempt sent shards flying everywhere, split McMahon's forehead open, and had the crowd in East Rutherford screaming in awe. Had the brutal sequence ended there, nobody watching would've felt short-changed; their endorphins had already spiked.

But there was more coming, once Angle peeled Shane off the floor behind the set-piece. From there Angle would attempt more suplexes to send McMahon out through another glass panel. As with the first attempt, McMahon failed to break through, though Angle managed to break his fall on the subsequent two fails. Finally, Angle just launched Shane through with a sort of, "and stay out!" throw.

Angle recalls that Shane demanded to keep going until he finally went through, after Angle initially tried to call an audible for the sake of Shane's health. Angle remembers that "The Boy Wonder" cursed at him when Angle tried to discreetly talk him out of continuing the run of dangerous throws. Angle obliged, knowing that the night meant a lot to Shane, that it was an opportunity for him to shine in a truly memorable match.
