When Evolution was formed in early 2003, the group's future wasn't exactly unclear. At the time, it was a less-heralded Triple H leading fifty-something Ric Flair, and two OVW call-ups in Orton and Batista that had yet to amount to much on the main roster.

As time would show, everyone in the group would develop an impressive wrestling legacy, each leaving a deep mark on the business. Orton, the youngest of the group, continues his run near the top of WWE cards to this day.

His victory in the 2009 Rumble match completed an Evolution grand-slam of the event. Flair famously won it in 1992, followed by Triple H a decade later, then Batista in 2005. The younger trio have each won the event twice, all earning their second victories between 2014-17.
