Tony Schiavone providing the call for victories by Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, and Dusty Rhodes: are we sure this Vince McMahon's company? In SummerSlam's second match, the 43-year-old "American Dream" (still wildly popular, polka dots or not) defeated The Honky Tonk Man in a fun undercard crowd-pleaser.

One person not enamored with that match, or with Rhodes himself, was Honky. Always one to offer his unvarnished opinion, Honky would later state that everything Rhodes did in the ring hurt him, whether he was locking up, or dropping his patented elbow, going as far as to call Rhodes, "a stiff piece of s--t". Honky contrasted working with Rhodes to working with Hogan, noting that you never felt a thing when Hogan laid in a strike, whereas Rhodes was the precise opposite.
