The true highlight of SummerSlam 1993 was the entire Bret Hart/Jerry Lawler skirmish. Lawler faked an injury to initially get out of the match, naming Doink the Clown as his own replacement. Doink and Hart would go on to have a fairly enjoyable match, but prior to that, somebody got ribbed good.

As part of the angle where Lawler insulted the entire Hart family, brothers Owen and Bruce were in the front row to cheer Bret on. When Doink entered, he carried two steel buckets. The first one was filled with confetti, which was dumped onto a group of fearful ringsiders. Doink made like the second one had confetti also, as he taunted the Hart brothers with it, only to splash a gallon of water directly into a surprised Bruce's face.

According to Bret, Bruce was intentionally not made aware that water was going to be used. Owen had heard about the prank in advance and told Matt Borne (the first and greatest of the Doinks) that he would pay him back if he got any on him. Borne must have good aim; only unsuspecting Bruce got wet.
