When you think about all of the wrestlers that were directly affected by the WCW buyout, DDP's one of the ones you feel the most sorry for. The man waived guaranteed sit-at-home money just to take part in a potentially-hot storyline, at the age of 45, no less.

Shortly after SummerSlam, Page had surgery on a torn meniscus that he had apparently been working through for more than a month. Though Page has long kept himself in optimum shape through his vigorous fitness regimen (maybe he should market that...), wrestling a consistent schedule at the age of 45 with a shredded knee has to suck.

The fact that Page's sacrifices didn't have a very desirable payoff makes it all the sadder, as the next entry shows.
