2. Randy Orton's Cash-In Resulted In A Money In The Bank First

When Orton cut off Daniel Bryan's celebration by toting his red briefcase to the ring, stomachs turned. Indeed, Orton was cashing in his Money in the Bank contract, and he wrested away Bryan's newly-won WWE Championship, with an assist from some Authority chicanery.

In effect, Orton became the first man to successfully cash in on a wrestler that had just won the WWE Championship (note: not the World Heavyweight Championship) the same night. There were five previous cash-in attempts on a WWE Champion, but they were all against established titleholders. Orton was the first to take down somebody that had only won the 50-plus-year-old WWE World Title on the same card.

Since then, the feat has been achieved twice: Sheamus on Roman Reigns in 2015, and Dean Ambrose on Seth Rollins in 2016. Apparently, WWE developed quite a fetish for two-a-night title changes along the way.
