2. Edge Was Originally Not Supposed To Return Until Armageddon

Throughout 2007, The Undertaker and Batista had warred in some truly inspiring battles over the World Heavyweight title. The feud was simple: one guy would have the belt, the other guy would want it, and they would try to kill each other for it. Couldn't be simpler, and it worked.

Their Hell in a Cell match at Survivor Series was about par for their course, though tainted by the interference by Edge (who was dressed as a cameraman) in the closing moments.

Edge had been out of action since July, and his return wasn't scheduled until the Armageddon pay-per-view the following month. WWE changed plans, deciding to bring Edge back a month early, likely to use his chicanery to set up his later involvement at Armageddon. It left fans with a screwy finish, but at least more people saw Edge return than would've on a routine SmackDown.
