4. CM Punk Asked For Kassius Ohno, Not Roman Reigns

This one gets cited quite a bit, usually in the continuing public trial against Roman Reigns. Punk was approached with the idea of having some sort of secondary help, and he claims to have advocated for bringing up developmental guys who were ready, as a way to give them a solid rub right out of the gate.

When Punk pitched the idea (at this point, some vague "security force") to McMahon and Helmsley, he was asked who he'd want for that. He said Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Kassius Ohno. Punk remembers Helmsley turning down Ohno, before he and McMahon advocated for Roman Reigns. Sounds about right.

Punk, for his part, wasn't super-keen on Reigns being a part of the package, but figured Reigns could get better as a performer working alongside of him. The Punk/Shield connection was short-lived due to plans frequently shifting and morphing, but Punk would later express pleasure that all three men were doing great for themselves on the main roster.
