3. The Shield Were Supposed To Have Props
The Shield's initial attire wasn't the most imposing of looks. Instead of wearing flak jackets, the trio hit the ring costumed in long sleeve black shirts, like candidates to take over the Sprockets hosting gig. As it turned out, it could've been much worse.
Much worse. Reigns and Rollins have both said in later interviews that they were supposed to enter with giant plastic riot shields, that literally said "SHIELD" on them (because WWE loves to hammer the point home with deadly force). Rollins added that they were supposed to carry billy clubs as well.
The props were ditched before the three ever made their entrance. Reigns contended that they would've looked really dumb lugging the cumbersome objects, where there was a chance the hand-held shields could get caught in the ropes as they stormed the ring. Had that happened in their grand reveal, they would've looked royally stupid.
