6. Stone Cold Aggravated A Shoulder Injury When He Punched Rusev
The League of Nations' post-match gloating was a transparent cue for some proven stud or studs to come in and shut them up. Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, and Mick Foley answered the call, beating down the dastardly faction. It was a mostly benign throwaway segment, only notable for the fact that Austin ended up in pretty rough shape afterward.
In preparation for the WrestleMania appearance, Austin injured his right shoulder while vigorously training. Among the damage, Austin had torn his right rotator cuff, and messed up his bicep and AC joint.
Austin notes that fixing it would've been a simple procedure, but he wound up worsening the damage by taking part in the beatdown segment. He claims that throwing the punches at Rusev turned what would have been a minor procedure into two-and-a-half hours of surgery.
