Ambrose and Lesnar's planned match for WrestleMania 32 seemed to hold a lot of promise. Pitting take-any-risk Ambrose and his cache of painful weapons against the sadistically-unbeatable video game boss that is Lesnar had match-of-the-year ambitions. Instead, the one-sidedness and abrupt finish rendered the street fight one of the low points of a disappointing WrestleMania.

Ambrose's side of the story was made public in August 2016, during a podcast interview with Stone Cold Steve Austin. Ambrose, like many fans, saw in his mind's eye the potential the scuffle held, and claims that he put a lot of work into designing the many nuances that the Street Fight would contain. Ambrose claims he was "met with laziness" by Lesnar, who performed his usual multi-suplex routine in what basically amounted to a longer squash match.
