The Usos have been at the forefront of the SmackDown tag team division since the brand extension of 2016 and with good reason. Jimmy and Jey have been superb, delivering excellent performances against teams of various skills and styles.

Whether they are tearing the house down against The New Day, matching athleticism with Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable or throwing fists with The Ascension, they have repeatedly proven themselves the measuring stick for duos on the blue brand.

Enter Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, whose run as the main antagonists on Tuesday nights have created some thoroughly entertaining television but whose futures post-WrestleMania do not appear to include the WWE Championship.

What better way to convince the WWE Universe that they are, in fact, united as best friends than by attempting to wrest the SmackDown Tag Team Championships from the team most closely associated with excellence?

The matches would be phenomenal, less pressure would be put on Owens and Zayn individually to deliver at a high level and any nagging injuries would have more time to heal under tag team rules than if either of the heels were out there trying to steal the show with AJ Styles or Shinsuke Nakamura every week.
