10 First Years In WWE That Went From Amazing To Awful
6. Ahmed Johnson
Though lacking in refinement and something of a flight-risk thanks to a careless streak that dogged his whole career, Ahmed Johnson began his WWE career on a high after slamming Yokozuna on his first night then getting an uncharacteristically good rub as Shawn Michaels' tag team partner in their winning Survivor Series team in 1995's fondly remembered 'Wild Card' match.
His success continued into 1996, but one swift kick from the debuting Faarooq would derail Johnson in irreversibly harmful fashion. Forced to vacate his Intercontinental Title after suffering kidney damage, Ahmed didn't wrestle again for the remainder of the year, and as the feud with Faarooq and his Nation of Domination flatlined by June, the two fierce combatants were paired in an updated variation of the group.
Johnson's bad luck continued after he sustained an injury on his first night as a Nation member and during his return angle at SummerSlam in August, effectively marking his cards in the group and the company in general. Hoofed from the gang, he was little more than a unconvincingly ginormous utility babyface until his 1998 release.
