10 "Foreign" Wrestlers Who Weren't Really Foreign At All
7. Yokozuna
It's now well known that the 600-pound mammoth Yokozuna was not of Japanese descent, but rather a member of the famous Anoa'i family that have created a strong legacy in American professional wrestling.
WWE wasn't even remotely subtle about shifting Yokozuna's heritage, slapping on a sumo wrestler gimmick with manager Mr Fuji proudly waving a Japanese flag. Yoko would also adopt sumo attire, mannerisms and a Japanese flute theme song.
While the Anoa'i family was well known inside professional wrestling, the relation between Yokozuna and his cousins The Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu), who were brought to the then-WWF at the same time, was not easily noticeable.
