NXT call-ups were far and few between in late 2012 and early 2013, but The Wyatt Family deserved to be brought up to Raw and SmackDown far sooner than they were. They were unquestionably a level above everyone else down in developmental and belonged to be among the elite.

Wyatt was in desperate need of credible competition, so when Chris Jericho surprisingly showed up in NXT, they crossed paths almost instantly. A six-time world champion and one of the greatest of all-time, Jericho went up against only the best wrestlers the roster had to offer, so it was a testament to how good Wyatt was for Jericho to select him to work with.

Although the match was saddled with interference from the rest of The Wyatt Family, Jericho prevailed and scored the submission victory by forcing Wyatt to submit to the Walls of Jericho, but only after The Eater of Worlds pushed him to his absolute limit. They went on to feud the following summer and face off at 2014's SummerSlam event, but little did fans know that their bad blood dates all the way back to this often-overlooked encounter on NXT.
