This one-on-one encounter between Shawn Michaels & Kane might not be the most breathtaking or spectacular of HBK's career (or, perhaps, even this list), but it's certainly one of the most historically significant. Shawn's stellar in-ring career came to an end in 2010, after losing a Streak vs. Career match to Undertaker at Wrestlemania 26. As a warm up to that very match, Michaels faced up against to Kane; who's not only Undertaker's on-screen brother, but is the most physically similar wrestler to the Deadman. Although we didn't know it at the time, this match would turn out to be Shawn Michaels' last ever match on Monday Night Raw, a show that he'd been involved with literally from the very first episode. Shawn will have known that fact while he was wrestling this match, so must have been experiencing all kinds of emotions. He was in the process of saying goodbye to his career and his fans, but in order to stay true to his character, he had to keep all those emotions at bay. After all, it was the Shawn Michaels character, and not the man who played him, that believed he could beat Undertaker and didn't want his career to end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M01suL-M4NI As I said, the match was pretty average fare for Shawn, with him doing all his traditional moves. Inside though he must have felt like a singer performing their greatest hits on a farewell tour. Shawn won the match, despite some interference from Undertaker, beating Kane with some Sweet Chin Music, in what was HBK's last ever victory in a wrestling match. Are there any more Forgotten Shawn Michaels matches that I've forgotten and you believe deserve more recognition? Let us know in the comments below, unless of course, you've forgotten them too, which in that case means they're gone forever.
