10 Former WWE Stars Who Definitely Should Not Return For Brand Split 2016

4. Evan Bourne

Evan Bourne had a reasonably successful run with World Wrestling Entertainment between 2007 and 2014, one that saw him win WWE Tag Team Championship gold with Kofi Kingston as part of Air Boom. His tenure was riddled with injuries and suspensions however, as well as stop-start pushes and that infamous Shooting Star Press into RKO spot.

Since leaving WWE, Bourne reverted to his previous name of Matt Sydal and has experienced something of a career resurrection. Along with standout performances in Ring of Honor and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Sydal has made a big splash in New Japan Pro Wrestling, mostly in a tag team with Ricochet.

Bourne/Sydal is an individual who is clearly better off outside of WWE. He is more likely to be used in positions of prominence in those promotions that put more focus on what happens between the ropes, and he is simply going to make more of his abilities free of WWE restraint. There would be no point in him returning just to make Baron Corbin look great.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
