Things looked so, so bright for the then-Evan Bourne when he surprisingly pinned none other than Chris Jericho at WWE's Fatal 4-Way pay-per-view in June 2010. That win was supposed to elevate the high-flyer, but it was a bit of a false dawn.

The next four years were all over the place.

In between Wellness Policy suspensions and injuries, Bourne formed the Air Boom team with Kofi Kingston, then spent a year on the sidelines before being released from his contract in 2014. After that, he returned to the indy scene and has since re-found his form in ROH, PWG, New Japan and Impact.

Although he's now 35, Sydal is in his prime as a worker. His matches have rarely disappointed since he left WWE, and he'd be a useful hire for NXT or 205 Live. Injuries wrecked his hopes before, but there's still a chance to make up for lost time.
