10 Former WWE World Champions Who Never Faced Brock Lesnar

It is easy to forget that just a few years ago, Sheamus was a main event level superstar. The night before Brock Lesnar returned to WWE, he famously kicked Daniel Bryan’s head off of his shoulders at WrestleMania XXVIII. Sheamus was the top babyface on SmackDown Live at the time, but the brand split wasn’t long for the world.

The 'Celtic Warrior’s name was bandied about as a potential major match for Lesnar when the former UFC Champion returned, but injuries got in the way of that. Sheamus slowly moved down the card with each passing return, and 'The Conquerer' vs. 'The Great White' went from being a potential main event to a probable TV squash.

Neither the main event nor the squash happened of course. Brock and Sheamus did battle on a WWE house show in January 2016, but they are yet to do square off on a televised event. WWE had its fingers burned putting Sheamus in the main event at the end of 2015, and the big Irishman seems to have since found a nice niche in the tag team division since.

Lesnar vs. Sheamus probably won’t happen any time soon.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
