Brock Lesnar and Edge faced off on a number of occasions, but never in televised one-on-one competition. Edge was actually Brock Lesnar’s first house show challenger for the WWE Undisputed Championship, but The Undertaker fulfilled that role on television.

Lesnar and Edge did face each other on pay-per-view, but the match was a handicap bout as opposed to a one-on-one battle. Not only that, but the bout was the main event of SmackDown’s first ever brand pay-per-view. Many would assume that Edge was the one with a man advantage on that night in 2002, but it was Lesnar who teamed up with Paul Heyman to pick up the win.

Much like JBL and Jericho, Edge’s best work as a main event performer in WWE came during Brock Lesnar’s absence. In fact, Lesnar returned to WWE almost a year to the day that Edge announced his retirement in emotional fashion.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
