10 Fun Facts About My Trip To The 25th Anniversary Of WWE WrestleMania
9. The Animal Returns On Post-WrestleMania RAW
Leading up to WrestleMania XXV, there were a barrage of rumours that Batista would be making his return to action after a long injury. With the storyline going into the big show, it seemed highly likely that he might get involved in the main event to help Triple H against Randy Orton's Legacy faction. As it turns out, Triple H and Randy Orton had a less than memorable main event clash in the Houston Astrodome and we left the stadium a little deflated after the flat ending of The Game pinning The Viper in the boring battle of the headlocks. The next night, we packed into the arena for RAW and after a pretty decent fallout show from 'Mania with the main event seeing Randy Orton going one on one with Vince McMahon. After Legacy attacked the Chairman, we got run-ins from Shane McMahon and Triple H. As soon as Legacy set up Triple H to destroy him, my friend and I knew it had to be Batista. Absence can make the heart grow fonder and we were absolutely ready to see The Animal back in WWE. When the familiar chords of Saliva's I Walk Alone hit the speakers, the Houston crowd jumped to their feet and we all rejoiced in Batista's return which, also meant we no longer had to watch Vince wrestle. Hurrah!
