10 Fun Facts About My Trip To WWE WrestleMania 21

1. Here Comes A Real American

When Hulk Hogan said at the Hall of Fame the night before WrestleMania that he was "gonna live vicariously through these guys tomorrow€, I told Kenneth we would probably only see The Hulkster come out to take a bow for the HOF at the show and that€™s it.

Even though I€™d seen him in Seattle, I€™d never been in an arena and seen him with the Real American theme or seen him do his 10 minute long pose-a-thon. But, I€™d resigned myself to the fact it wasn€™t gonna happen and to enjoy the show without it.

I had gotten up to order us some burritos from the concession stand and we were tucking into them when Eugene came out. It seemed odd to have him on the show, but then Muhammad Hassan came out to interrupt and I knew straight away that I was going to get what I wanted. Since Kenneth doesn€™t watch wrestling, he didn€™t pay attention as I told him €œHogan€™s coming out, he€™s definitely coming out here€.

As Hassan applied the camel clutch to Eric Bischoff's poor nephew, the chords of Real American blared through the Staples Center speakers and we all jumped out of our seats like our team had just won the Superbowl (Kenneth€™s burrito also went flying into the air during all the excitement). Even he, noted non-wrestling fan, was jumping up and down and enjoying the moment.

Thousands of people in that arena grew up watching Hulk Hogan and we were treated to the ultimate piece of nostalgia pie as Hogan took care of the evil Hassan and Daivari and then posed to his fans.

As Hogan walked up the ramp, Kenneth turned to me and said €œNow I get why you love wrestling, that was amazing€.

It certainly was.
