10 Fun Facts About My Trip To WWE WrestleMania XXVI

1. Undertaker Retires Shawn Michaels

When WWE announced the Undertaker/Michaels rematch for WrestleMania XXVI, I was a little skeptical that it could follow up to the epic match they had the year before. However, HBK's career being on the line added an extra layer of drama to the match, which made it even better. My friends around me were screaming for Michaels to beat 'Taker and end the streak and it's the only match I've ever been to live, where I sat in silence. Every near fall was like a rush of adrenaline. I loved the Streak and wanted it to continue but didn't want Shawn to retire. Every time a Sweet chin music or a Tombstone would be landed, my heart would beat at a rapid pace and we'd all be standing, wondering if this is it. Finally, 'Taker hit Michaels with a super jumping Tombstone and pinned him 1-2-3 to retire The Showstopper and go 18-0 at WrestleMania. It was one of the most dramatic, intense and emotional things I've ever seen live. My friends were devastated, but I was really happy. The streak was alive and Mr WrestleMania went out on the highest of highs in front of 70,000 people with one of the best matches ever. You can't ask for better than that.
