10 Fun Facts From My Trip To WWE WrestleMania 30

9. Bumping Into A Certain WWE Hall Of Famer After A Few Too Many Whiskeys

On the Friday night before WrestleMania, my friend invited me to the WWE hotel to hang out and have a beer. Most of the roster was passing through the lobby and Ric Flair of course grabbed a drink at the bar before moving on somewhere else.

As we were chatting to a WWE exec, a WWE Hall of Famer (not Flair) stumbled by us. I have to admit to being a little starstruck as the man was being very open about his feelings on matters within the company. I just stayed quiet and interjected when it felt like I should. The legend then made a verbal jab at Stephanie McMahon and Triple H and their takeover of the company.

I've never been more awkwardly happy than listening to all of this chatter while nodding along. It felt like you'd sneaked into a secret club and you were trying not to get busted.

That Friday night was a great night as we drank beer at the bar and everyone from Paul Heyman to Hulk Hogan walked by on the way to their rooms. For a wee guy from Glasgow, it was insane to think that I got to be here and see there people walk past. It's a feeling I still struggle to describe.
