10 Fun Facts From My Trip To WWE WrestleMania 32
4. Nostalgia-Mania Once Again
The last six years of WrestleMania, while enjoyable, have turned into a bit of a nostalgia-fest. Instead of the new up and coming stars getting main event matches with names like Triple H, Brock Lesnar, or The Undertaker, for the most part, it's been the battle of part timers. While a few individuals like Seth Rollins or Daniel Bryan have managed to break through that ceiling, it's become a little tiresome to always see stars of yesteryear disposing of today's talent with such ease.
After the League of Nations defeated The New Day, King Barrett cut a promo about the LON being the most dominant faction in wrestling, with no three men able to defeat them. That was the cue for Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley and Steve Austin to come to the ring and destroy them. I would have much preferred those legends to be involved in the Hell in A Cell match, which would have made a lot more sense given what was at stake, but it wasn't to be.
However, the legends taking out the League was nothing compared to the embarrassing performance by The Rock. Not only did he come out and take up 15 minutes just to announce the attendance record, but he then made fun of all three Wyatts when they came out to confront him. Worse still, Johnson defeated Erick Rowan, with ease, in an impromptu match that lasted all of six seconds.
To add insult to the Wyatt's injury, John Cena came out and the two legends just destroyed the Wyatt family. The cult group didn't get to hit one finishing move or big blow to either legendary figure.
Nostalgia-mania runs wild again as The Wyatts continue to be put out to pasture by stars from the past....
