3. CM Punk Enters Commentary God Mode

When CM Punk in his 'Pipebomb' promo said that he was the best 'even on commentary', he wasn't kidding - and this clip proves it.

Untethered by Vince McMahon, who usually barks instructions at commentators but who didn't and probably still doesn't care about NXT, Punk so brutally tears chunks off Josh Matthews that he almost begins to humanise the cardboard cutout. Matthews' description of an arm drag as a 'lucha libre' style move is met with a withering 'Americans do arm drags'.

Matthews in his plaintive response - 'she did a cartwheel' - sounds like a mouse retreating into a hole in the wall. From there, Punk proceeds to unleash the best and most hammy Jim Ross impression you'll ever hear, in describing what decidedly isn't the 'damndest spear' you'll ever see, which has co-commentator Michael Cole howling. Cole for his part ramps up the ridiculousness with his hoarse cries of 'SPEAR! SPEAR! SPEAR! SPEAR!'

Sarcasm, as the saying goes, is the lowest form of wit, but that isn't true of CM Punk responding to Matthews' request for coaching insights with a deadpan 'I think they're telling them to win'.
