3. Batista Gets The Send-Off He Deserves

NXT Tapings, June 12th 2014, Full Sail

After the horrible, horrible snafu that was his last (ever?) WWE run, Big Dave turned up at the NXT tapings just over a week after his last night on RAW, in what amounted to his swan song from the WWE ring.

Arriving in good humour and mostly out of character, Batista gamely allowed the Full Sail crowd to chant precisely what they liked at him, freely acknowledging the uneven reception he’d received from the fans as the returning babyface hero before turning heel a few months earlier.

He even led them in a 'BOOTISTA' and a 'BLUETISTA' chant… that is, before the inevitable interruption. This time, it wasn’t a member of The Authority, or anyone else from the main roster. No, former NXT Champion Bo Dallas came to the ring to talk to him, and with one thing on his mind: he wanted Dave to BO-LIEVE in himself again!

As you can imagine the Full Sail crowd loved this development, both because it featured a WWE main event talent and Marvel superhero being confronted by an NXT stalwart, and because it allowed them to debut chanting BO-TISTA BO-TISTA BO-TISTA.

Batista retained his good humour long enough to lure Dallas in to deliver a robust spinebuster, and both he and the crowd went home happy.
