10 Genius Ways Wrestlers Survived WWE Humiliations
1. Roman Reigns Uses Fan Backlash Against Them
"Suffering' succotash, son!".
With one line, Roman Reigns suddenly became the least-cool man in pro wrestling. That January 2015 misstep was quickly followed by another when Reigns won the Royal Rumble and was promptly booed out of the building despite support from beloved returnee The Rock.
Becoming the least-liked babyface of his generation was a bitter pill to swallow for Roman. Vince McMahon continued shoving him down fan throats, but that only made peeps rebel like never before. This pain didn't really stop until Reigns turned heel in the summer of 2020 and introduced his new 'Tribal Chief' persona.
Fans refused to accept Roman before, so he started using the catchphrase: 'Acknowledge Me". Fans have, and there's a wicked smile on the guy's face every single time. Why not? WWE's fanbase now falls in line and heaps adulation on him when they rejected him years ago.
Roman survived WWE humiliation then made himself feel good by trolling the same folks who had embarrassed him.
