It's been widely reported that Chief Brand Officer and boss' daughter Stephanie McMahon has recently taken a leave of absence from the WWE. Reports have stated that, internally, her abilities as an executive were in question. For years, many fans have opined that the problem with the WWE has been too many McMahons in the kitchen.

Claims have since emerged, suggesting that WWE wasn't as confident in her abilities as the CBO and that Stephanie's leave of absence didn't come as much of a surprise. According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, some of the WWE brass were bad-mouthing McMahon on her way out. Those who did were "key high-level people who are the last people I’d expect to do so".

The Stephanie saga could be part of a larger, long-term plan to sell WWE. A company that once prominently featured four McMahons is now down to one. Linda hasn't been a presence for years. Shane McMahon was purportedly fired by father Vince after the 2022 Royal Rumble, and now daughter Stephanie is being distanced from her former responsibilities. It's also been reported that WWE President Nick Khan is handling many of her old duties until a permanent replacement is chosen.

This could be a standalone issue or a small taste of WWE's future. All signs are pointing toward some big changes moving forward, starting with a new Chief Brand Officer.
