10 Gimmick Matches WWE Should NEVER Book Again

7. Wyatt Swamp Fight

Bray Wyatt Braun Strowman

WrestleMania 36's Bray Wyatt vs. John Cena was a remarkable blend of self-deprecation, wrestling culture and cinematic silliness. It was everything that was right with WWE's latest mid-pandemic trend, and it'll live long in the memory as one of the most charming spectacles of 2020.

The 'Wyatt Swamp Fight', meanwhile, will not.

WWE tried to recreate some of the brilliance of 'Mania and add a harder edge to it when Bray and Braun Strowman settled their differences at the awkwardly-titled 'Horror Show At Extreme Rules' pay-per-view. The result was a messy, disjointed and altogether unsatisfying brawl.

18 minutes felt like 18 hours. If this was supposed to become Bray's new signature match, then forget about it - it made the 'Firefly Fun House' epic look even better; in movie terms, it was Jaws: The Revenge, only somehow less charming.
