The second (or actually first) Brock Lesnar versus Undertaker match from No Mercy took place inside the demonic Hell in a Cell. Lesnar had been on a tear over the past six months, putting away legends like Hulk Hogan, The Rock and Ric Flair, but he couldn't best The Deadman, the two battling to a DQ finish at Unforgiven.

A month later (and after Lesnar making threats towards 'Taker's pregnant then-wife Sara) they decided to settle it once and for all. What resulted was a brutal, bloody and utterly compelling match in which the two went at it hammer and tong. Both men, as well as Paul Heyman - who was situated outside of the Cell - were busted wide open by the end of this war.

Lesnar was an animal in there, picking apart 'Taker (who went into the match with a kayfabe broken hand) and looking more than comfortable in his new surroundings. Both unleashed their big moves in the closing stretch, including F5s, chokeslams, Last Rides and so on, but it was Lesnar who emerged victorious following a decisive F5.

After the match's conclusion, Brock scaled the side of the cage, climbing on top of it and celebrating by holding his WWE Title triumphanlty above his head. He had beat The Phenom at his own game in one of his best matches yet. Incredibly, this violent, almost half-an-hour long war wasn't even the best match on the show...
